The assignment was to design a magazine with a social topic. My choice was transgender because there has been a lot of talk about it in recent years. I designed the magazine myself and interviewed someone about his/her experience.

Here I have tried to portray Astrid in the way she likes to be seen. The quote “the journey to myself” is from the interview I conducted with her.

Hormones and their support

Taking hormones because you are in the wrong body sounds easy, as many people think: “it is just like the pill for women that you have to take”. But the opposite is true. It is a very emotional journey. Fortunately, she has her parakeet which offers her support in these times. That is why she has been portrayed in this way.

Follow-up edition

The idea behind this was that you would make a follow-up edition. I chose Drag Queen. This also has to do with gender. I did not take the photos for the covers.
